Local sports fans have the chance to grill Britain's greatest ever Olympian, Sir Steve Redgrave, and his celebrity pals at a charity dinner hosted by the Stradey Park Hotel on September 25, 2006 to raise funds for the former rower's Charitable Trust.

The five time gold medal winner, along with sporting guests including football legends Bruce Grobbelaar and Pat Jennings, will take part in a 'Question and Answer' session compered by local favourite Dai Vaughan and Machynys golf captain Elfyn Philips at a charity event at the Wales Tourist Board four-star venue.

The Sir Steve Redgrave Golden Five Celebrity golf tour, which has already visited La Manga in Spain this year, returns to Machynys Golf Course and the Stradey Park Hotel following a successful visit in 2005. Local Renault dealership Gravells is helping the cause by supplying eight cars to transport celebrities between the golf course and hotel.

Angela Saunders, Director, Stradey Park Hotel said: "We're thrilled to welcome back Sir Steve and look forward to a special evening at the Stradey Park Hotel. We'd like to urge all local people to come along and join in the fun. "This is a great chance to get up close and personal to some real sporting legends while raising money for a good cause at the same time."
