The Stradey Park Hotel, Llanelli’s Edwardian  mansion house hotel, has announced a series of refurbishments across the hotel  at the cost of £1 million.

The work will  compliment the series of refurbishments that took place across the front of  house, Brazz and Parc bar in November of last year, bringing an air of  contemporary cool to the Llanelli landmark.

The hotel’s 83  bedrooms are to be upgraded to a high specification combining comfort and  luxury with the latest technological equipment.  Guests staying in any of  the spacious family rooms, en-suite twin and double bedrooms, clubrooms or  luxury suite can look forward to relaxing with a DVD in front of flat-screen  televisions or to surfing the net through the hotel’s wireless internet  connection.

The hotel is a hugely popular wedding venue and hosts the special day of many happy couples each year. The facilities, which can entertain up to 200  guests, are to be redecorated and upgraded to ensure the hotel maintains its status as Carmarthenshire’s most popular venue for couples tying the  knot.

Businesses in Carmarthenshire can also look forward to  state-of-the-art conferencing facilities thanks to an upcoming refurbishment.   The facilities at the hotel, which can host up to 400 delegates,   will close for a short period early in the new year for an extensive  reworking that will see the venue incorporate the very latest in audio visual  equipment.

The fabric of the room will be changed to benefit from complete   soundproofing, while new lighting and audio systems will allow clients  to tailor the atmosphere of the rooms to suit their specific  event.

The main function room can also be divided into several smaller  rooms including arrangements that allow break out rooms to be formed off the  main room. There are also a variety of rooms available throughout the hotel  that are suitable for smaller business events.

Angela Saunders,  Director, Stradey Park Hotel said:

“We are excited  that the refurbishments will bring the rest of the hotel in line with the  fabulous work transformed the front of house, Parc Bar and Brazz last  winter.

“Customers and businesses are rightly demanding more and more of  their venues and we wanted to stay ahead of the game by ensuring our  facilities, whether for an overnight stay, glamorous wedding or networking  function, exceed all expectation.”
