Stradey Park Hotel Stradey Park Hotel welcomes people with disabilities and has developed the Access Statement to address some of the more common issues that disabled people face. Parking Upper and Lower Car Parks:

Stradey Park Hotel has 3 designated disabled parking spaces in the upper car park, directly outside Reception.

Upper car park is on a level surface. Lower car park is on a sloped surface.

Steps from lower car park has a handrail and step nosings are marked with a contrasting colour.

Car parks and steps are well lit at night.

Main Entrance

Reception:

• There are 4 steps up to the main entrance.
• Automatic door on entrance to the lobby area of Reception.
• Alternative level access through the Gallery entrance.
• Reception Access: Ø Reception staffed 24 hours a day.
• No lowered section to Reception desk for wheelchair access.
• Clipboard available as alternative.
• No Induction Loop System at present.
• Seating available in area directly opposite Reception.
• Alternative location for checking-in procedure if required.
• Fridge available at Reception for guests who require this facility for medication etc.

Bedrooms Ground Floor:

• There are 20 ground floor bedrooms available including 3 adapted wheelchair accessible rooms.
• Single leaf door opening is 780mm.
• Doors have lever action handles.
• Locks are standard key operated and not key cards.
• Good colour contrasting within bedrooms and bathrooms.
• Cordless kettles in most rooms.
• Flooring is fixed and slip resistant in bedrooms and bathrooms.
• Lever handle taps in accessible bathrooms.
• Showers fitted with thermo water temperature controls.
• Shower head is height adjustable.
• Rooms have televisions operated by remote control and also have teletext facility.
• Light switches located at a height of 1000mm.
• Power points located at a height of 800mm.
• Bedside lamps provided.
• Audible fire alarms only and ‘Please contact Reception staff’ if specific emergency evacuation arrangements are required.
• No handrails in corridors leading to bedrooms.

Public Areas

Lounge – Bar – Restaurant

• Range of seating available including chairs with arms.
• Lighting adjustable as required.
• Menus available in large print if required or staff to assist.
• Special dietary requirements catered for with advance notification.
• Waiter/Waitress service in the Bar and Restaurant
• Conference Facilities Ø All Conference and function rooms are located on the ground floor.
• Height adjustable lectern available.
• Disabled toilet available close to Conference rooms.
• No Induction Loop System currently fitted.

General

• Staff available to assist wherever possible if and when required - Please ask.
• All mobile networks have good coverage within the hotel.
• Lift available to reach upper floors and large enough to accommodate wheelchair user.
• Lift buttons include details in Braille.
• Emergency button in lift to alert Reception staff.
• General information can be made available in alternative formats if required
• Assistance – Guide dogs are welcome.

Future Plans Stradey Park Hotel is continually looking to improve and update its facilities for all guests. In the near future a ramp (gradient 1:20) is going to be installed for wheelchair users to access the main entrance. Stradey Park Hotel will welcome any comments and suggestions that guests may have in which will help them to make their stay more enjoyable and accessible.
